Young footballers in Skelmersdale will be able to improve their game following a cash windfall from the Safer, Stronger Communities Fund.

As part of the £3.7m funding to make Digmoor, Moorside and parts of Tanhouse cleaner, greener and safer, the Neighbourhood Board have given Dynamo Rangers £16,000 to benefit their game.As a result 10 mixed teams of boys and girls who are part of the league will benefit from new training shirts, jackets, trophies and financial support for training venues.Caroline Stewart, Club Secretary of Dynamo Rangers, said: "We are delighted to have received this funding because it means that we can continue our work without the stress of worrying whether we can afford our outgoings. The boys and girls will really benefit from this money because it will give them a sense of belonging, self-inclusion and self-worth. In fact, four of our players have just been signed up with professional teams, which shows just what opportunities can come their way."
