Ormskirk West End Reds .V. Dynamo Rangers

Photobucket
This turned out to be one of the most even and open games of the season so far, Massimo should have opened the scoring when his shot went over the line but the referee missed it. FRASER carried on his amazing goal scoring record when he battled his way through the penalty area and slotted home to make it 1-0. OWE hit back straight away when No7 hit a strong shot from outside of the area to equalize. OWE then took the lead when the little No9 weaved through the Dynamo defence to slot past Sam in the goals. OWE could have had a bigger lead if it wasn’t for Riggers, Tom and Alfie resilient defending and some fine saves from Sam. FRASER then latched onto a nice pass from Massi to equalize.

Half Time OWE Reds 2 – Dynamo Rangers 2
Both teams had chances to win the game with OWE reds constantly turning the ball around the left post, Dynamo had the better of chances with the best one being an almighty goalmouth scramble where both Fraser and Owen couldn’t get the ball over the line, even though Fraser did say that the ball went over the line in his post match interview. The game finished 2-2 with a draw probably being a fair result.
Referee Man of the Match went to Massi who is regaining his match fitness after missing the first few games with a broken metatarsal.
Fans Man of the match chosen by Alfies Dad went to Rigby.

Cherrybrook United .V. Dynamo Rangers

Dynamo faced league newcomers Cherrybrook for the first time, Within a few minutes of kick off Cherrybrook opened the scoring when a Sam clearance rebounded of Riggers and dribbled into the bottom corner, 1-0 to Cherrybrook and we feared the worse.  The cherries were putting some nice passes together and only some solid defence from Riggers and Alfie and Sam’s saves helped to keep the score at 1-0. Dynamo finally got going and when the keeper could only parry a Liam rasper OWEN was there to slot home is first goal of the season to make it 1-1. After some dogged battling in the middle from Massi the ball came to FRASER on the wing who turned superbly made a run into the box avoided a tackle and with his back to the goal turned again and hit a lovely shot into the corner to make it 2-1. Once again the half was played out in midfield with both sides unable to break each other down.
Half Time Cherrybrook United 1 Dynamo Rangers 2
The second half got under way and you could see that Dynamo were pushing to put the game out of reach and when Fraser broke down the left and floated a ball into Owen the resulting volley looked to be going in only for the cherries to clear it out but clearance landed at LIAMs feet who hit a 30 yarder that went in off the post 3-1 to Dynamo. Dynamo were looking stronger and stronger and Massi was unlucky when a decent shot was parried but unluckily for the Cherries it fell at the feet of the inform FRASER who happily slotted home for his second goal of the game and Dynamo’s 4th. As the game looked like it was about to finish 4-1 OWEN picked the ball up 25yds out and floated a shot into the top corner to make it 5-1 to Dynamo.
This was an excellent display from Dynamo who are looking better and better every week, again every member of the team did his job. Sam stopping everything that came at him, Riggers and Alfie solid in defence, Massi bossing the middle like only he does, Liam and Fraser causing problems on the flanks and Owen leading the front line with 2 goals.

Ormskirk West End Blue .V. Dynamo Rangers

Dynamo were  looking to bounce back from the opening day defeat to Rainford when just before kickoff they were rocked when they found that they were going to have to play the entire match with 1 player less. Even with a man down the game was still even with both teams cancelling each other out, Riggers and Tom looking more and more confident at the back, Alfie enjoying his new free role in Centre midfield, Fraser weaving his magic on the wing and Owen Rimmer covering every blade of grass up front. But it was only a matter of time before the extra man took its toll and 5 minutes before half time it did when a spinning corner came in. Sam cleared the ball which fell to OWE BLUE 10 who slotted into an empty net. Dynamo nearly hit back straight away with a weaving run from Alfie who just couldn’t find the back of the net. Sam then made 4 outstanding saves to keep the game down to 1-0 and gave Dynamo a chance going into the second half.

Half Time OWE Blue 1 Dynamo Rangers 0

The second half started the same way as the first with most of the play in the middle of the park, OWE winger then took the ball down the left crossed it in to find OWE BLUE 9 on the back post unmarked to make it 2-0. With a man down and 2-0 down that should have been game set and match but today was the day when 6 boys became men, dug deep fought in the trenches and rekindled all memories of Istanbul. FRASER started the comeback by making a run into the area and somehow found the back of the net to make it 2-1. Dynamo now started to control the game and Owen Rimmer was unlucky when a shot from the 20 yard out and on the sidelines just hit the bar from that the ball fell to Alfie on the edge of the box who hit a shot that was turned around the post by the keeper. Owen Rimmer then had another shot turned around the post but the keeper couldn’t do anything from the shot of FRASER that followed a goalmouth scramble 2-2 to Dynamo (well it felt like it after that comeback) Tom then had a shot from just out of the area parried and from this Fraser hit the post. Then with a few minutes to go FRASER finished the comeback when he scored from just inside the area. 3-2 to Dynamo, comeback complete.

Every player deserved a medal today, Sam by keeping the game at 1-0 in the first half, Riggers and Tom for their rugged defending, Alfie for controlling the middle, Owen Rimmer for giving the OWE defence a torrid time and Fraser for scoring the 3 goals that won the game.

Referee MOM went to Fraser for scoring his 2nd hatrick of his career

And Fans MOM chosen by myself went to Sam because if 3 goals deserve the MOM then 4 top saves deserves it to

Rainford Rangers .V. Dynamo Rangers

The eagerly awaited first game of the season after the winter, oops I mean summer break kicked off in the glorious cold and wind with Dynamo and Rainford both cancelling each other out in the earlier stages.  Rainford soon found out that there would be no way through the resilient defence of Riggers and Tom and resorted to long range efforts, unluckily for Sam who was having another fine game No 10 from Rainford floated one right into the top corner which there was nothing he could do about. The goal resembled one of many that Ronan scored last season who now sadly for Dynamo his plying his trade at Bolton Academy. (Good luck Ronan from everybody at Dynamo) After this Dynamo pulled their socks up and started to play some fine football, Liam and Fraser started to link up well with James and Alfie doing the same on the other flank, with Owen Rimmer making is comeback debut causing problems up front. The hard work payed off when Fraser and Liam both went to shoot with LIAM getting to the ball first to score Dynamo 1st goal of the season. Dynamo now started to pick up momentum and Liam linked up well with FRASER who calmly slotted past the keeper to make it 2-1 to Dynamo. Sam made 2 outstanding saves to keep Dynamo in the lead and from a Riggers cross James brought down the ball and unleashed a first time shot that unluckily hit the post.

Half time Rainford Rangers 1 – Dynamo Rangers 2

If the first half belonged to Dynamo then the second half belonged to Rainford. The equaliser came from a cross over from the left finding a man unmarked on the back post to score. Rainford then went into the lead when Sam made another fine save only to parry the ball into Fraser who couldn’t do anything about walking the ball over the line to make it 3-2 to Rainford. As Dynamo were looking for an equaliser Rainford broke away and put the game to bed making it 4-2 with a couple of minutes to go. Dynamo pushed everybody up for a corner in the final seconds but couldn’t convert and the referee blew the whistle to end the first game of the season.
