MATCH REPORTS
Dynamo Rangers 0 v 10 Preston North End
Rangers knew they were up against top opposition in this match, but to discover they were understrength before the match was a huge blow. With only 6 players new signings Heather and Megan ‘Burny’ Burnes made an earlier debut performance. The game Kicked off with Rangers still 1 player less but were fairing well with Megan and Hannah Battling hard in midfield and Katie working her socks off in defence. Slick passing and moving saw PNE score 2 excellent goals. Rangers had 2 great chances but Eleanors shots went just wide. PNE scored again which made Rangers heads drop. The when Hannah was punched in the stomach and had to come off for treatment, PNE scored 4 more goals making it 7-0 at the break. 2nd half Rangers were back to 8 players and were holding their own, with Heather making some excellent saves and Burny and Alice working hard in defence. However a rocket shot from PNE was saved well by Heather but resulted in a broken wrist, Rangers back down to 7. Eleanor stepped into goal and made some fine saves but PNE took full advantage of Rangers bad luck and scored 3 more goals. With 10 minutes left on the clock rangers adapted the Goalie rush style of play, and kept PNE in their half. 2 great strikes from Eleanor and Jamie Lee whisked past the post but the game ended 10 nil. WOM went to Megan
Dynamo rangers 3 v 4 Euxton
This game was an opportunity missed as Rangers should have bagged some points on the table. Euxton started brightly and found themselves in the lead when the attacker slipped down the right and scored an excellent goal. Sonn after Rangers were equal when a great move saw Poppy fire home. Rangers then had 3 great opportunities to go into the lead but then Euxton keeper dealt with them quite comfortably. The Euxton took control slipping past the defence to go one on one with Jamie in net. As she stood rooted to the spot the striker finished with ease. 2 more goals exactly the same meant Euxton took a 4-1 lead into the break. 2nd half saw Katie Woodard in goal and after some strong but encouraging words at the half time team talk Rangers came out a stronger side. A great goal by Eleanor and a looping wondershot from Megan saw Rangers close the gap. Euxton were on the back foot and only broke free of the defence once, but Katie was off her line like a shot forcing the ball out for a goal kick. The clock wound down with Rangers ruing their missed chances to get points from the game. WOM went to Hannah.
Lostock Hall 1 v 12 Dynamo Rangers
The first half was slightly disappointing in that Rangers were playing nowhere near the standard they had been previously. Lostock had a few breaks but Heather and Katie were dealing with the pressure with ease. KK in goal had little to do but did it superbly. Rangers took the lead when a cross from the right saw Eleanor fire home. Eleanor doubled the lead soon after. Burney and Alice went on in the first half and played excellent upfront and on the left. Rangers should have had more goals in the 1st half but credit to Lostock for defending in numbers. 2nd half saw Burney in goal and again had little to do. Rangers then went on a goalscoring spree. Eleanor got her hatrick, then after a short spell on the bench bagged her 4th, Jamie lee scored twice after seeing another shot smash the crossbar. KK scored 2 superb goals with Megan and Poppy getting one each. Nicky had a great strike saved before scoring with hr left from a Hannah cross. Hannah also got on the scoresheet after breaking free of the defence going one on one with the goalie and slotting a sweet nutmeg into the back of the goal. Late on in the game and long clearance found Lostock 4 against 1 and the striker kept her cool and finished well to give them a well earned consolation. As all players gave their all in the 2nd half it was a collective mom performance for the team.
The Fillies vs. Dynamo Rangers 4-3
WOM Megan
Rangers kicked off knowing they had a good chance of getting the full 3 points. It was great 1st half with Alice and Megan winning the balls in midfield. A great ball from Poppy saw Eleanor have a clear cut chance and she slotted the ball between the keeper and the post to make it 1-0. Sadly Rangers couldn’t hold on and went into half time 2-1 down. The 2nd half started with the fillies scoring a quick goal but Rangers didn’t give, up they scored in the last 7 minutes with a good ball from Poppy seeing Eleanor coolly slot the ball into the open net. Eleanor scored soon after when she broke free on edge of the penalty box and scored a screamer of a goal with her left foot to make it 3-3, HATRIC for Eleanor. Sadly Rangers lost the game.
Dynamo Rangers 0 v 1 Bleak Hill
Rangers kicked off the season knowing they would have to work hard in
this match due to the fact they were 2 players down. WOM Jamie Lee
Miles stepped into goal and is never going to step out of it! A superb
performance from our new goalie who made countless saves. Hannah and
Megan ran their socks off playing superb in midfield, defence,
upfront.......!
2nd half Rangers had many chances to equalise, which
they definitely deserved, but somehow it just either went wide or
saved by Bleak Hills keeper.A valiant effort and despite losing the
girls, were proud of themselves for their teamwork and performance.
